How Do I Apply?

We’re excited to announce our inaugural Open LMS Awards, which honor the incredible and groundbreaking work our clients are doing utilizing their learning management systems to transform learning worldwide. From unique training programs to engaging online courses to essential volunteer training, we want to hear how you’re using your LMS effectively to further your goals and the success of your learners.
We encourage all clients to apply for these awards. Even if you think what you are doing with your LMS is “simple”, simple can still be transformative!
Winners of the Open LMS Awards will receive a badge to display on digital and printed materials, as well as a shout-out on the Open LMS website and social media platforms—including a live announcement of the winners, which will occur on LinkedIn! Additionally, winners will receive a special swag bag from the Open LMS team to celebrate their success.

What Are the Award Categories?
Excellence in LMS Award
This award celebrates clients who have taken their LMS to new heights by showcasing a flagship course or program that exemplifies innovation, inclusivity, and engagement. The award highlights exemplary LMS initiatives that excel in, but are not limited to, areas such as:
Flagship Course Excellence: Development of a high-quality, impactful course that effectively engages learners, delivered in a hybrid or fully online format.
Accessibility and Inclusivity: Ensuring that the LMS and course content are accessible to all learners, including those with disabilities, by adhering to accessibility standards and employing inclusive design.
Microlearning: Leveraging microlearning strategies for enhanced learner retention, delivering knowledge in bite-sized segments that encourage continued engagement.
Advanced Analytics and Insights: Using data-driven insights to track learning outcomes, refine the LMS experience, and tailor content to meet learner needs.
Submissions open: December 4th, 2024
Submissions close: February 26th, 2025
Winners announced: March 12th, 2025

This award recognizes clients that are pushing boundaries by using their LMS in a unique, unconventional, or highly imaginative way. It celebrates the application of technology to create meaningful, enjoyable, or non-traditional learning experiences through approaches such as:
AI-Driven Learning: Incorporating artificial intelligence to personalize the learning experience, optimize pathways, or provide on-demand support.
Immersive Technologies (AR/VR): Leveraging augmented or virtual reality to enrich learning experiences and make training more interactive and engaging.
Gamification: Implementing game mechanics like points, badges, leaderboards, and challenges to drive learner motivation and participation.
LMS as a Community Hub: Creating an LMS that goes beyond course content to host events, foster social connections, and provide additional resources for learner engagement.
Resource-Rich Experience: Integrating diverse resources, such as external articles, media, forums, and virtual meetups, to enhance the overall learning journey.
