A story from Trinity University of Asia – with AI in academia, what does
that mean for academic integrity?
Engr. May Anne Ong-Laciste
Manager, Trinitian Center for Education and Technology at Trinity University of Asia

With AI-generated content growing at an unprecedented rate, the potential of AI is transforming education for the better, and with risks at play.  The use of AI among students will most likely evolve to be less about cheating and more as a tool to improve efficiency and learning.  AI will automate ground-level tasks in the education sector.  This will enable teachers to analyze how students learn more concisely and meaningfully, thanks to AI’s ability to process vast amounts of data.  As with AI itself, AI detectors should be part of a process, not the only process.  Nor should they be the final word, but instead, what inspires much-needed conversations around generative AI.  Expect to see more educators asking for prompt disclosure, if students utilize AI on an assignment.

16:10 - 17:10

Post-Event Workshop
